A chara The status of Moneygall Gaa club has always intrigued me and I have spoken with Offaly people about it in the past and never got a conclusive answer.Clearly according to the Maps the village lies within Co.Offaly.I am surprised that the GAA who have done more than any other organisation to establish County identity and pride of place should have such an anomaly.Offaly could do with every hurler it has,its not as if Tipp were short of hurling clubs.I am a Kildareman and we have a few clubs which are right on the borders with other counties yet there is no question where they play. When Tipp meet Offaly, what colours do the Moneygall club fly.I remember being in Killaloe once and noticed the intense rivalry which existed between Killaloe and Ballina, even though it looked like it was the one town with a river through it.Ballina are firmly rooted in Tipp whilst Killaloe are Clare. This is a good example for similar situations that arise around the country. I look forward to an explanation. Paul Connolly
